Hov Pods to the Rescue
Chosen for United Nations World Food Program

Small hovercraft can play a very important role in extreme
areas where essential supplies have to be transported to overcome natural disasters.
The Hov Pod was chosen for use by The United Nations World Food Program.
The procurement process was quite rigorous; the hovercraft chosen had to help, not hinder operations on the ground, since the use of the hovercraft quite literally would make a profound effect on the lives of many people. The Hov Pod was chosen for it's ease of use, ease of maintenance, durability, reliability and operational characteristics, particularly on water and over rough terrain. It will be used to cross swollen rivers to bring food, aid and essential medical supplies.
The Hov Pod was shipped to Kenya and then transported by road to Padak,a small town north of Bor, one of the regional capitals in South Sudan, right on the Nile river banks. During the overland crossing, the delivery truck driver was stopped because a bridge had washed away and he was unable to cross the swollen river - the terrain and operating conditions were key reasons why the United Nations Food Program chose the Hov Pod.
We are very proud to help them in their essential work.
