Hov Pod Hovercraft on the BBC

The Hov Pod was chosen to appear on National Prime Time TV in the UK's BBC Channel 1 show announcing the National Lottery Results - watched by millions of aspiring millionaires. As part of the lottery results live draw, contestants take part in a feature show entitled Millionaire Manor. The winners of the quiz show move into a luxury mansion where they will lead the life of a millionaire in a multi-million pound Victorian country house estate set in beautiful grounds complete with gym, games room, outside spa pool and bar. On March 4th 2006, as part of the final show in the series, the TV producers wanted some special toys for contestants to chose as most desirable, and expensive. The winning team chose the Hov Pod as most desirable and expensive, preferring it over the top of the range Yamaha WaveRunner and Viper JetBoat.  Actually, the Hov Pod is comparable in price to the WaveRunner and was priced high with all the options, to suit the TV game show format. Blind since the age of six and deaf since three, Graham “G-Force” Hicks, an ambassador for the charity Deaf Blind UK achieved a world record first, May 2nd 2005 by flying a Hov Pod 3-man hovercraft across the Solent and back, a stretch of water separating the Isle of Wight from the mainland of England.

The Hov Pod is so easy to fly, that Graham learnt just the day before under supervision.

Hov Pod Hovercraft Video 4

Our fourth MPEG video contains a 12 second clip of the Hov Pod Leisure hovercraft.
First the Hov Pod hovercraft flies from beach to sea then pulls a neat 360
followed by taking off whilst wave surfing (you’ll believe a hovercraft can fly!).
The Hov Pod then pulls a fast broadside and finally can be seen flying across the sea into the sunset.

Our fifth MPEG video contains a 12 second clip of the Hov Pod Leisure hovercraft. First the Hov Pod hovercraft sets off on the sand with its mirror twinkling in the sunlight followed by a radical wave surf. Hov Pod then comes back in from the sea, curves up a sand bank before powering down back into the sea. The Hov Pod then powers over a breaking wave before gliding across the water. The Hov Pod hovercraft is last seen jumping a wave as it heads out to sea.
